Yearly Zoo Evening

Fri Jul 28, 2006, 3:48 PM
Every year the zoo hold a summerly open night. The zoo will stay open untill 9 PM, and there are peek behind the scenes available where the caretakers explain how they take care of their animals. I havn't been to the zoo in AGES. So this is a great time for me to go again, as I always go to these events. And to think I almost missed it because I totaly forgot. I happened to stumble upon it because I just decided to read a newspaper, which I usualy never do, so I gues it's somehow a leap off faith or whatever.
As usual, I'm going to try and get a job at the zoo. Working with the big cats is still something I want to do, and I one day hope to convince some zoo to take me in, even though I don't have papers.

I dunno if I'l be taking any pictures. And if I do, they won't be uploaded onto here for at least a month. Well, thats about it. Catch ya all later!

:salute:

OMG! Oh..you're Dutch! Me too XD I like English better, but you don't mind do you? Umm...did that zoo adopt those white tigers or did they breed them? Because white tigers are inbred and suffer from many genetical defects..they're awesome pictures though. Please tell the staff or whoever lets them mate etc. that it's wrong. I'm sorry to spoil it all and stuff :(

Tigers are beautifull creatures. They're wild animals, not pets!
White tigers are inbred and suffer from many genetical defects.
White tigers aren't even purebred Bengals, they're often mixed with Siberian tigers too.
:iconhenrieke:
They do breed with the white tigers, although the ones that live in the exhibit now are the father with his two daughters. (the mother died) They also breed with the Siberian tigers, and those are 'clean', for as far as I know. Ouwehands in Rhenen also keeps white tigers, and white lions as well... All other Dutch zoos keep 'clean' tigers. There are Siberian tigers in Safari Beekse Bergen, Dierenrijk Europa, Amersfoort, Emmen, and Ouwehands. Rotterdam and Amsterdam keep Sumatrans. All lions in zoos are inbred stuff :/
